Heber City

Ranch land and golf, fifteen minutes behind Park City.
Field Notes

The valley on the quiet side of the same range that holds Park City — ranch country with Timpanogos on one side and the Uintas on the other. It's the land and acreage Park City gave up decades ago, with the resorts still fifteen minutes over the hill. The private gates here come with golf: Red Ledges and its two Nicklaus courses, Victory Ranch with a Rees Jones course and four miles of the Provo, Wolf Creek Ranch and its hundred-and-sixty-acre parcels.

The recreation is the kind people build whole trips around — blue-ribbon fly fishing on the Provo, Jordanelle and Deer Creek for the boats, Soldier Hollow where the Olympics ran their Nordic events. And for Jamuna it's simply home: she grew up in this valley, made shakes at the counter in town and poured tea at a little room in Midway as a girl. Some agents study a place. This is the one she knows by heart.
