Salt Lake City

Federal Heights

The city's oldest money, on the bench above the university.
Field Notes

Salt Lake's established address, wrapped around the north edge of the University of Utah. The homes are architect-built — Spanish Colonial, Tudor, Georgian — many on the National Historic Register, with newer estates climbing higher for the valley views. There's true Utah history around every corner, and it has been the city's prestige neighborhood for a century.

The pull is proximity as much as pedigree: the university and its hospital at the doorstep, Rowland Hall a few minutes away, downtown ten minutes down. Up the hill sits Red Butte Garden, whose summer concert series is one of the finest outdoor rooms in the West — shows that begin at mountain sunset and end under the stars. Quiet, walkable to the Avenues, close to everything that matters.
